劇情
Evan Treborn (Ashton Kutcher), who suffered severe traumas as a boy (Logan Lerman) and a teenager (John Patrick Amedori), blacks out frequently, often at moments of high stress. While in his dorm room reading one of his journals to a girl, he finds that when he reads from his adolescent journals, he travels back in time, and is able to essentially "redo" parts of his past, thereby causing the blackouts he experienced as a child. There are consequences to his choices, however, that he then propagates back to the present: his alternate futures vary from frat boy to prisoner to amputee. His efforts are driven by the desire to undo the most traumatic events of his childhood which coincide with his blackouts, including saving his childhood sweetheart Kayleigh (Amy Smart), from being molested by her father (Eric Stoltz) and tormented by her sociopathic brother (William Lee Scott).

The actions he takes, and those he enables others to take during his blackouts, change the timeline in the new future wherein he awakes. As he continues to do this, he realizes that even though his intentions are good, the actions he takes have unintended consequences. Moreover, the assimilation of dozens of years' worth of new memories from the alternate timelines causes him brain damage. Ultimately he decides that his attempts to alter the past end up only harming those he cares about. He travels back in time once more to the first day he met Kayleigh and scares her away. He succeeds in undoing his childhood as he knew it, and then destroys all his journals so that he's not tempted to bring any of it back. The film ends eight years in the future with Evan leaving an office building and passing Kayleigh on the street. After a moment's hesitation, he lets her pass by without noticing him.

This movie freaked me out, much like Donnie Darko did. The premise of this film is, if you could change something about your life what else would it change? Something we all wish we could do, change something we did, or the outcome of something that happened in our lives. But after seeing this film, I’ve decided I have no regrets, and if I could change something I wouldn’t! Starring Ashton Kutcher (his best role ever) this movie shows a young man just how different his life could have been if he had done one little thing differently, but sometimes the results could be worse than he ever expected.
這部電影衝擊了我的心情。如果你可以改變過去，你的生活將有什麼變化？我們都希望我們能夠擁有一台小叮噹的時光機重回過去，如果有一天能做到，我將會改變什麼，使現在更加美好。但在看了這部影片，我決定我不後悔現在這個樣子，如果我可以選擇重回過去改變些什麼，我想我不會動用這樣的超能力的！這部電影彰顯了一個人不過只是做了一件小事但所影響的後續效應竟然是如此的龐大。伊凡多次重回過去，然後改變從前的回憶僅僅一小部份，卻讓他往後的日子，超出他所預期的，大大改變了！其效應令人驚訝！
Man... Whew... Wow! I'm at a loss of words to describe this high octane, tantalizing, brain-stimulating movie. The acting: excellent. The plot: superb. The story: great. The drama/suspense: mind numbing. How the writers were able to put this story together so flawlessly, I don't know, and how the director was able to actualize it, even more amazing. There was plenty of visual stimuli as well as mental stimuli as you waited to see the outcome of each alteration made by the main character, Evan Treborn (Ashton Kutcher)
這部片真是好得讓人不知道該用什麼話語來形容自己當下的心情了，電影相當吸引人，且十分具啟發性。內容的處理也很好。至於電影情節就更甭提了:極好。故事很棒，戲劇懸疑性十分緊湊。竟能夠把這些看似分離的片斷放在一起並銜接得天衣無縫，而且還翻拍成電影，令人十分驚艷。當在看主角伊凡做的每一個記憶修改的原委、過程和所導致的結果時，有豐富的視覺刺激和心理震撼。
This film was directed and written by both Eric Bress and J. Mackye Gruber. They did make their mistakes but the film is still pretty good. The critics never gave this movie a chance. As soon as they heard Ashton Kutcher was in it, they all prepared to give it thumbs down. The movie moves around a lot that its hard to keep up but it also keeps you paying attention. Plenty of movies have gone back in time before but this one does it so more effectively that its almost original in that sense. The beginning is done well, the middle it starts dragging but it starts picking up and the ending is done extremely well. This is one of the best films of 2004 and certainly an entertaining one. In the end, this underrated gem is worth checking out.
蝴蝶效應是由艾瑞克布萊茲和麥基古柏共同執導和編劇。電影相當棒。但是影評卻沒有給這部電影出線的機會。當知悉這部片是由艾希頓庫奇主演，他們的評價便驟降。這部電影片斷的部份很多，許多人認為這使他們無法專注於影片中，大大影響電影的流暢性。很多電影都是以回到過去為內容，但這部電影卻不落窠臼將故事鋪排得極好，且忠於「蝴蝶效應」這個詞本來的意義。全片起承轉合掌握得很好。我認為是2004年最佳娛樂之一。最後，我也認為這部片是個遺珠之憾。
