I went to see “The Phantom of the Opera” in TaipeiArena last summer. The live show gave me more vibrations then its film. Forexample, the special efficacy was unexpectedly amazingand the scenery was vivid. Although, the phantom’s face really scared me first,however, I was reveled in his magnetic and powerful voice. I thought listenthose melodies live was a really great experience and enjoyment. It’s true thatthe ticket I bought was a little bit expensive, but I think I’m lucky I havethe chance to be a live audience to see this show.

     “ThePhantom of the Opera” is a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on the Frenchnovel Le Fantôme de l'Opéra by Gaston Leroux. The music was composed by AndrewLloyd Webber, with lyrics by Charles Hart and additional lyrics by RichardStilgoe. The musical focuses on a beautiful soprano, Christine Daaé, whobecomes the obsession of a mysterious, disfigured musical genius known as"The Phantom of the Opera".

《歌劇魅影》（The Phantom of the Opera）由安德魯·洛伊·韋伯（Andrew Lloyd Webber）作曲，劇本根據法國偵探小說家卡斯頓·勒胡所撰著的愛情驚悚小說《歌劇魅影》（Le Fantôme de l'Opéra）改編。音樂劇的歌詞和對白由RichardStilgoe創作。1986年首演，於1988年獲得七項東尼獎，是史上最成功的音樂劇之一。

Based on the French novel Le Fantôme del'Opéra by Gaston Leroux, the story is set in 19th century Paris Opera Garnier(Opera Garnier) as the stage, describing the emotional entanglements between a youngfemale opera singer, a young aristocrat and an eccentric man who is hiding undergroundin the opera house (Phantom of the Opera).

本劇是改編自一本由法國作家卡斯頓·勒胡所撰著的愛情驚悚小說─《歌劇魅影》（Le Fantôme de l'Opéra）。故事中以19世紀時法國巴黎的加尼葉歌劇院（Opera Garnier）作為舞台，描述一個年輕的女歌劇演員、一個年輕貴族與一個躲藏在歌劇院地底的怪人（魅影）之間的愛恨情仇。
